About Us

Our reputation is based on good old fashioned customer service from a team of milliners who know their stuff.  We know what looks good – sometimes a slight change of angle makes all the difference!

We aim to make our clients look and feel fabulous. We would never let anyone walk out onto the street in one of our hats looking less than amazing.

Lots of people ask us about the rules for choosing headwear.  The simple answer is that there are none!  We could say that people with small faces should wear short brims and a whole host of other guidelines but to be honest, if you feel good in a style then you will wear it well.  If you believe that hats don’t suit you then please come to see us.

Georgina Abbott

Georgina’s millinery life began at the London College of Fashion in 2001. She set up her own label and launched a wholesale range that was stocked in Fenwick of Bond Street. She went on to manage events and PR for the British Hat Guild and recruited Joanna Lumley as patron. Launched in 2010 and voted Micro Business of the Year in 2013, Atelier Millinery has gone from strength to strength.   In 2014, Georgina co-founded London Hat Week with Becky Weaver of HATalk to create a regular celebration of hats in the city that is home to some of the best milliners in the world.  In 2019 Georgina and Becky joined with 32 other industry colleagues to reform The British Hat Guild chaired by Stephen Jones OBE.

The Core Team at Atelier Millinery

Everyone in my team has been through rigorous training as a milliner  and so we all advise on styling, making and repairs.  We also have our individual specialities and each member of the core team has their own independent millinery label which means we offer an unparalleled range of design and technique between us. This gives us the confidence to tackle the most demanding millinery challenges including repairing some hats which really have seen some action!
